Direct Care Worker Programs and Resources - Training
3P Teambuilding, Communication and Problem Solving Skills for Direct Care Staff
Who should participate?
Direct care workers (such as nurses aides, certified nursing assistants, home health aides and other care assistants) who work in nursing homes, home health agencies and community organizations and whose supervisors have already completed the Coaching Approach to Supervision training program.
What is the purpose of the program?
The 3P program will teach problem-solving, communication, cooperation, goals-setting and teamwork skills to direct care workers.
How will this program benefit me & my organization?
Direct care workers can use the skills taught in this program on a daily basis in addressing unexpected situations, responding to a resident's health crisis, working with other staff or communicating with individuals who may be demanding.
Research has shown that the most effective way to address caregiving issues is by supporting and developing the whole caregiving team - including direct care workers and licensed staff. Thus, the combination of the Coaching Approach to Supervision training for nursing supervisors and the 3P Problem Solving and Communication Skills training for direct care workers will provide both managers and front line staff tools necessary to create smooth working relationships both internally and with residents/clients.
Program Length: 1 day
Cost: FREE - the cost of your participation in this program is being paid through grant funding by the Workforce Investment Board of Lancaster County
