Coaching Supervision Train the Trainer program

Who should participate?
Experienced educators who work in a long term care setting or who are interested in teaching the Coaching Approach to Supervision in community-based or residential care settings. We encourage teams of two educators to attend together where possible.

What is the purpose of the program?
To prepare trainers to teach the Coaching Approach to Supervision course

How will this program benefit me & my organization?
Once you complete this Train-the-Trainer program, you will be able to teach the 2 day Coaching Approach to Supervision program to supervisory staff in your facility.

NOTE: The Workforce Investment Board of Lancaster County offers financial support for facilities to run their own in-house Coaching Approach to Supervision classes. For details, contact Melanie G. Program Length:
This Train-the-Trainer program is a total of 9 days, divided into three 3-day sessions. In order to complete this Train-the-Trainer program, you must attend all 9 days.

Cost: FREE - the cost of your participation in this program is being paid through grant funding by the Workforce Investment Board of Lancaster County

What is covered in the program?

  • the full curriculum of the Coaching Approach to Supervision program is covered in the Train-the-Trainer program
  • the Train-the-Trainer program also covers:
    • effective teaching approaches and tools for delivering the Coaching Approach to Supervision program
    • dealing with classroom dynamics
    • modeling coaching principles as an instructor in the classroom
    • live practice sessions in delivering modules of the Coaching Approach to Supervision curriculum
  • you will also receive handout masters, training book masters and all necessary curriculum materials to teach the Coaching Approach to Supervision in your facility
  • you will receive supplemental materials including articles, research findings and other supporting information for the successful implementation of a Coaching Approach to Supervision
